Section: Observatory

For more information, see the Observatory Building!

  • In this section it is possible to visualise the layout of regions, on all the zones the observatory's sight can reach.
  • Each observatory evolution (on buildings) the range of it's sight is increased, allowing more zones to be visible.
  • Due to the zones' layout in System Empires, proximity to the poles brings two situations:
  • Observatory range is affected, the same level will see less neighbouring zones than an observatory situated on a more central zone of the planet.
  • However, trips to neighbouring zones will be faster.

1. Interface and composition

  • At the page top, by default, help is displayed.
  • Two images follow:
  • The first indicates the existence of debris above the visualised zone;
  • The second accesses the system to report inappropriate player or region names.
  • On the same line it is also displayed a list of all visible zones from observatories throughout the Empire on that planet.
  • Clicking on any on the numbers on the list, will switch the view onto that zone;
  • By default, the list is ordered by increasing distance:
  • Grey zones match visible zones from the current region's observatory;
  • Blue zones match visible zones from other regions' observatories;
  • The slash "|" separates different zones by observation radius (different ranges, left to right means closest to farthest).
  • By clicking on ZV, zones will be ordered by increasing number.
  • At the center, a grid is displayed which corresponds the map of the current Zone.
  • Each cell on the grid matches a region. Possible displays are:
  • If the region is not colonized, only a centered indication of address is displayed;
  • If it is colonized or under colonization, it has:
  • Address display on the top left corner;
  • An * if there was owner activity in the last 30 minutes;
  • One or more of the following letters:
  • P - Protected Player, has less than 12 points, cannot attack/spy nor be attacked/spied by anyone;
  • N - Weak/Newbie Player, cannot be attacked/spied by you and vice-versa;
  • E - Strong/Expecienced Player, cannot be attacked/spied by you and vice-versa;
  • I - Inactive Player, no system protection, no attack limit;
  • V - Player on Vacations, cannot be attacked/spied by anyone;
  • B - Player banned by the system/administration, no other special status;
  • The name of the region (given by owner);
  • The name of the region's owner (green if it the owner is the player himself);
  • Main ranking position of the owner;
  • Tag of the owner's alliance.
  • Also note that the background color of a region might vary:
  • Red - belongs to an enemy assigned by the player;
  • Gray-green - belongs to alliance mates;
  • Dark green - belongs to a buddy assigned by the player;
  • Blue - all other regiões (empty regions included).
  • At the footer of the page, a table is displayed, where it is possible to:
  • Send spaceships or vehicles (Homeplanet) on various missions, to the selected zone(s);
  • To select a region, just click on its cell in the grid.
  • Send messages to the owner or see his/hers profile.

2. Formulas

  • Calculation of how early inbound enemy fleets are detected:
  • ''Observatory_Level x 30min + 1h''
  • Example: with level 0 you will detect an enemy fleet 1h before the battle event takes place, and for other fleets that take less than an hour, you will detect them as soon as they are launched.
  • If you have several regions in the same zone, the formula uses the highest Observactory_Level that can be found on those regioes.
